6mm x 100m natural Jute Rope with a synthetic (Polypropylene) core for extra strength.

Supplied on a reel for ease of use and storage.

This soft handling, 3-strand Jute Rope has been designed as a low cost alternative to Hemp Rope and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Also used in the Japanese Shibari and Kinbaku art of knot tying.

Will it arrive next working day?

We always say 1-2 working days. If you pay for your order by 12 noon on a working day, we aim for next day delivery however remote locations, Islands & offshore might take a little longer.

How is rope measured?

Thicknesses are categorised by the diameter of the rope - ie measuring across the cross section or 'end' of a rope. Diameters are measured in millimetres; lengths of rope are measured by the metre.

Do all ropes shrink when wet?

Only ropes made from natural fibres (cotton, Manila, sisal etc) will shrink when wet.

Can I send my order back for a refund?

Our Returns Policy is at the foot of the page and we are unable to accept items that were cut to length or were modified (custom-made).

Good to have a quoted strength

This rope is rather stiff, otherwise very good. I suspect it would be improved with a more gentle lay and could well be stronger as a result. 200m reels would be nice too.

Good reliable rope

I bought 100m and it arrived two days later. I use it for rope projects. For this purpose, I can say it holds knots well with very little compression. Plenty of friction without being too hard on the hands. It was a little stiff when it arrived but softened quickly with usage. My main worry was that I would see all the polypropylene but I am pleased to say it is all hidden away and seems to make the rope significantly stronger than other jute rope I have used in the past. Not as much shedding as other stuff as well. Very pleased with the purchase.

Absolutely perfect!

This is exactly the product you want if you're looking for 6mm jute. It coils and uncoils nicely, it holds knots and bindings well. It singes down nice and smooth, then polishes up with use. A dab of jojoba oil from time to time and you'll have a rope that'll last you years.
