The standard finish for this rope is for both the left and right ends to be heat sealed.

Synthetic Hemp, sometimes called Hempex, is a strong, weatherproof, synthetic rope made to look like a natural hemp rope. This soft handling rope is ideal for outdoor use and particularly suitable for children's play equipment.

If you are choosing Synthetic Hemp for decking or garden rails, wait for the rope to arrive before drilling holes. Holes will need to be larger than the rope diameter - for example a 32mm rope might need a 36mm hole to pass through. We advise drilling a test hole first. Watch our video for guidance and top tips.

Will it arrive next working day?

How is rope measured?

Thicknesses are categorised by the diameter of the rope - ie measuring across the cross section or 'end' of a rope. Diameters are measured in millimetres; lengths of rope are measured by the metre.

Do all ropes shrink when wet?

Only ropes made from natural fibres (cotton, Manila, sisal etc) will shrink when wet.

Can I send my order back for a refund?

Our Returns Policy is at the foot of the page and we are unable to accept items that were cut to length or were modified (custom-made).

Canâ€™t believe how quickly we received our two pieces of rope. They are really good quality and the ends are finished well. 32mm synthetic hemp.

32mm diameter rope for garden swing from a tree.

I went for a 15m length of 32mm rope with hard splice at each end. I cut in half and soft spliced the rope myself.

My problem was gauging what thickness rope to buy.

The rope meets my garden swing, climbing, kids fun needs.

I think 28mm would have been adequate/better as the largest carabiner clips or mailons or D shackles I could find could fit 28mm diameter rope as a maximum.

32mm rope is a bit on the thick side for the Carabiners I bought for attaching different items to the soft spliced end.

The hard splice end is seriously Titanic ship heavy duty! The website does not tell you the end splice diameter. It is about 13cm at a guessâ€¦.overly generous (overkill) for passing the rope through the end (over a tree bough).
