Collection: Antique Brass Rope Fittings

The first question is what are you trying to do? Each fitting does a distinct and different job. For example, an end cup is used to join the rope to a post and a cap end is just a simple and stylish way to finish a loose rope end.

Then what colour suits your rope and the environment it is being used in? Antique brass is really popular, but we have other finishes to choose from, such as polished brass, chrome, satin chrome, matt black and black nickel.

And of course, size is an important factor. Choose fittings which are either the same diameter as your rope or slightly larger. Each product page provides advice on how to choose correctly.

Attaching a brass rope fitting to a rope end is a pretty seamless and straightforward process. Simply:

1. Wrap the rope tip tightly with electrical tape to seal the ends and stop fraying.
2. If the rope is still too loose for the fitting, apply more tape to increase thickness.
3. Then, simply slide the fitting on and completely into the socket
4. For natural ropes - drive the holding screw into the fitting hole by hand to make sure it’s tight and secure. We suggest you use gloves and a workbench for safety.
5. If you are using a synthetic rope, then it may help to heat a braddle or similar tool to melt a small hole through first. Please use gloves and take care to avoid burns.
